The MCCA is a dynamic state organization dedicated to positioning the city of Boston and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the forefront of U.S. venues for conventions, meetings and special events. There are many hotels near the Boston Convention Centre.

The MCCA owns and operates the spectacular new Boston Convention & Exhibition Center — the largest convention center in New England — which celebrated its grand opening in June of 2004. The Authority also owns and operates two other prominent convention facilities: the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center located in Boston’s historic Back Bay and the Springfield Civic Center which is currently undergoing a major renovation and expansion.
